Rectified results of the Quebramar GP42 Cup opening day .

Santa Margherita Ligure, 2 May 2008: Due to the late decision and announcement by the race committee, beyond our control, we hereby publish the rectified results of the GP42 class.

In the first race, second place was awarded to Canarias Puerto Calero after a thirlling photo finish between them and Desafío. When the two Spanish boats crossed the finish line, they were separated by a mere 15 centimeters and less than a second. MADRID was the undisputed leader of the fleet, finishing more than 4 minutes ahead of the rest. The key to the first race was to go as close as possible to the coast and the team sponsored by the Spanish capital city went to the extreme, almost entering into the Portofino harbor.

The results of the second race were significantly altered after Roma GP 42.2 and Near Miss were finally found OCS, after crossing the starting line early. The Italian boat helmed by Paolo Cian sailed well and together with Desafío and AIRIS they held a tough battle for the three top spots. They crossed the finish line first after AIRIS got tangled with a small boat 200 meters before the end.

After these changes, the Spanish teams now claim the three top positions, just one point from each other.
